Dr. Stephen R Covey said that he discovered the secret to managing stress in a book in a college library. It said:
“There is a gap or a space between stimulus and response, and that the key to both our growth and happiness is how we use that space.”
You have the freedom to choose your response to whatever happens in your life. Your response to external events determines the course of your life.
Suppose someone slaps you. Now you have a choice, you can either slap back or resist. If you slap back chances are the brawl will aggravate and someone may get bruised or may even lose some teeth. If you resist to slap back chances are the brawl will end and sensibility prevails.
Only sensibility leads to happiness.
