Meditation is just another name for awareness. Peace and happiness come from shining the light of awareness on the contents of your mind like your memories, thoughts, emotions, sensations etc. and then realizing who you really are in this light of awareness.
Meditation does not mean escaping from the world but to find and overcome the real obstacles that don’t lie outside but inside you.
The basic prerequisite to meditate is silence. If you are in silence even in the middle of your office, you’re meditating.
