“Animals are such agreeable friends – they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.” ~ George Eliot
Owning a pet brings with it many benefits to your mental and physical well-being. Some of them are:
1. You can truly be yourself around your pet. People usually judge us for what we do or say. Animals never judge us, so you can remove all your masks to be truly yourself with your pet.
2. You can vent anything in front of your pet after a terrible day. Your pet may or may not understand your language but she will always understand your feelings. If she is a cat she will usually curl up on your lap while you’re talking to her.
3. You’ll be less stressed, lonely and depressed by owning a pet, it’s proved by a study by Ohio State University. They found that university students who owned a pet were less stressed, lonely and depressed compared to those who did not have a pet.
4. Owning a pet develops your caring and empathy skills. After you fell in love with your pet, you’ll instantly know when your pet is feeling hungry, low or is in pain.
