We have a certain mechanism in our brains that synthesis the information we receive. It is called “Reticular Activating System.” It acts as a kind of sieve receiving only that information that we deem valuable. It depends upon us what we consider as valuable.

You may fall asleep while your children are making all sorts of noises or listening to music or radio etc. But your cellphone ring can suddenly wake you up in the middle of your sleep. It’s because your cell phone ring is valuable to you. It may be from someone important.

It’s the same mechanism that decides what kind of life you will live and what will you eventually become.

You can keep it on auto pilot or program it with some goals. If you keep it on auto-pilot you may not achieve anything worthwhile in your life.

Always aim high:
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” (Norman Vincent Peale)
