Fun is a necessity of life. If you don’t believe me ask any child. How she lives for fun and how much she hates school (with very few exceptions) for not being a fun place.
Just like children adults also need fun both in private and in business life. For some strange reason, it is a widely held presumption that being professional means being serious.
Why is it so that our workplaces have become discrete areas of our lives (just like schools) where we have to wear a serious “9-5 business mask?”
The biggest drawback of pretending to be serious is that it puts a barrier between your creative self called genius and you.
Try to be playful in your job, if it is not possible just try to enjoy your work even if it is as mundane as doing dishes. Yes, it is not easy to enjoy doing dishes but if you have your iPod plugged in your ears it becomes fun.
Once you start enjoying your work (even artificially like secretly listening to music,) your creative sphincter opens up thus giving you access to your own creative genius and you exce#FeelHeartyl
